HENNA BROWS

What are Henna Brows?

Henna Brows are a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth in the area. This visually fills any sparseness to create thicker, fuller looking brows.

What is the difference between regular brow tint and henna brows?

Regular eyebrow tint is only effective to tint the brow hairs rather stain the skin therefore it is not possible to create a more even shape or fill any gaps in the brows and is purely to colour the hairs. Henna brows last twice as long as a regular tint, Lasting up to a week on the skin and around a month on the brow hairs.

Factors that will cause your Henna Brows to fade faster:

    • Oily skin / excess dry or dehydrated skin.

    • Exfoliation / retinols / AHA’s / BHA’s and skin peels should be avoided on the brow area.

    • Sun exposure / Sun beds.

    • Make up / moisturisers or oil based products will cause the colour to fade quicker.

  • Treatment duration is 1 hour.

  • Upon booking you will be invited to make an appointment for a skin test no less than 48 hours prior to treatment.

A consultation will be performed before the treatment begins.

The treatment will start by thoroughly cleansing your brows to remove any excess oil from the skin, we will then choose the perfect shade to suit your skin tone and hair colour. We will then measure the brows using Allure’s brow mapping technique to create a template for the henna. The henna is applied in layers to create a stain on the skin whilst filling any uneven areas. The fronts will be removed first in an ombre style effect whilst we leave the mid brow and tails to develop. Once the colour is developed this will be removed and your brows will be shaped by waxing, trimming, tweezing and contouring. Exposure to the sun can also cause the henna stain to fade quicker.

  • A range of colours are available such as blonde, golden brown, light, medium and dark brown. We will take into consideration your skin colour, hair colour and eyebrow colour and often mix these to create the perfect shade.

    • You must arrive with the brows penciled how you would usually draw them, this gives a very good indication how thick or thin you are comfortable with and what shape you are used to before we start.

    • It is recommended to ensure your skin health is in a good condition. Henna is most effective on skin which is not too oily and not too dry. Please gently exfoliate your skin 1-2 days before your treatment to remove excess dead skin cells, drink plenty of water and keep the skin hydrated.

    • It is recommended to wash your hair before your treatment as you will need to take care to not get the brow wet.
